We are at the official half way point! 6 weeks down, 6 to go! How are you doing so far? Have you been sticking to your goals? Keeping with your plan? Why not take time at this halfway point to check in with yourself, and re-focus on what you originally set out to do.
There is a saying in yoga, "come back to your breath." This is often said when your mind starts to wander, or you start to feel alittle chaotic in a tough pose. "Come back to your breath." Recenter yourself - refocus - calm the mind, breath and move forward. I think this is so relevant in so many ways and can be applied to life in general - but today, let's use it as a reminder to ourselves that we may get sidetracked on our journey to good health - but we can always right our way.
I also wanted to share this article on strength training using your own body weight for resistance. This only further proves my theory that all you need is a pair of gym shoes and your own body to get started!

*We are going to Yoga Tuesday nights at Nishkama Yoga in Independence (on 82) - Yoga Basics Class - from 7:30pm - 8:30pm. It is $15.00 per class (multiple class passes are available.) They also offer yoga mats to rent for the class for $1 or $2. If you decide to join us, get there early (atleast by 7:15 to sign in and get a spot. Also, reminder, no shoes in the studio, and bring water and a towel).
*Zumba is still happening at St. John's every Wednesday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. It is great fun and as always, the more the merrier! It is pay as you go $5.00 per class. Your fifth class is FREE!
